Protect Yourself From the Sun While at the Garden Arts Festival

As you walk about the booths and displays at the Sorticulture Garden Arts Festival, be sure to protect your skin from the effects of the sun. This festival will be held from June 10 through 12 at Legion Memorial Park, which means that you will be exposed to plenty of the sun's ultraviolet rays. Providers at an urgent care in Everett offer these tips to help you protect your skin from sun exposure. Seek Shade The sun's ultraviolet radiation is what is responsible for sunburns. Even if your skin does not get burned, exposure to that ultraviolet radiation increases your risk of developing one of the three forms of skin cancer. The sun's radiation peaks from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. During these times of the day, try to seek out shade. If there aren't enough shady spaces for you at the festival, you can create your own shady spot by carrying an umbrella.
